Meet Coach Keith Drysdale, founder of Count the Bucket Basketball Youth Development Program and shooting school was established in the fall of 2016. Just a kid from the Bronx that fell in love with the game of basketball at the age of 7. One day the TV was on and saw something that had energy, and before you know it something drew my attention. It was the sound of the net when it went through the basket. I just know it looked so pretty going through the hoop that I wanted to go to the basketball court and make that same sound every time.
All of a sudden I'm at the park every day getting shots up and realized the art of shooting is locking in your target and point your elbow to the basket. That's how it looked watching the NBA so I would go out and try to mimic every move.
My mom entered me in a shooting contest at the age of 8 and a came in second losing in the finals by 1 basket. I took that a little personal and then practiced even more. I attended Grace Dodge High School, a small school in the Bronx. I made the team my junior and senior year, averaging 21 and 24 points per game.
I earned a two year degree in Micro Computer Applications at Sullivan County Community College and only played one year. Then I enrolled at Long Island University at CW Post, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Management and Technology. I also played for the CW Post Men’s Basketball Team. I then went on to play basketball professionally under former WNBA coach Teresa Weatherspoon for the Westchester Phantoms from 2007-2009.
Basketball is more than a sport to me, it's a community of a team that have different skills and passion for the game that build a team of opportunity's that can take you across the globe.
